The Bureau of Labor Statistics has released a comparison of 389 Metropolitan areas and their unemployment rates in an interactive map. There are 4 different unemployment rate tiers that you can toggle on and off when viewing the map. When hovering over a specific metro area, the label with the current unemployment rate will appear. The data is also viewable in chart form.


Out of the Metropolitan areas that had a population of over 1 million in the 2010 census, New Orleans had the highest unemployment rate in June of 2019 at 5.0%. Out of all 389 metro areas on listed, Yuma Arizona has the highest unemployment rate at 19.6%. Burlington, Vermont had the lowest unemployment rate at 1.9%.
